When I was little I can still remember my mom buying us a tin bucket of popcorn with different flavors. There was cheese, butter, caramel, and chocolate. Although I have some tough memories of my family.
My mom still found time to give us something to remember her by. Like the popcorn. It spoke volumes that her life was bittersweet. She always did the best she could to create moments my siblings and I could celebrate together.
We looked for to the holidays because we knew mom was working hard to make it special. She baked cookies for Christmas and set them out for us. We left them for Santa. We waited in anticipation for morning to see what we had under the tree. She would look at us and smile.
Sometimes she wished she could be there but worked demanded her and bills had to be paid. As children just wanted her there.
As I got older and began to have children I seen how special it is to have a family. I promised myself I will continue to make not only Christmas special for my kiddos but all holidays. I made it a tradition to always celebrate them all. It shows us how we should appreciate being able to cherish life.
Seeing smiles on our loved ones faces as we sip merrily by the fireplace. Having the ability to share moments with our elderly members is a true blessing as well.
Happy Toddlers running around in the lighted background as crumbs reach the ground is enough to warm our hearts. Making crafts and keepsakes for years to come is a strong tradition of the Price family.
